Namibia and Botswana

These two countries are often explored together and they offer an incredible diversity of wilderness experiences.
An American client once referred to Botswana as Africa lite…a third world country but with none of the negative aspects that are often associated with Africa. Botswana’s surface area is dominated by the Kalahari Desert. It is one large tract of wilderness and is, at its essence, a wildlife wonderland. Northern Botswana is an enigma…dry, desolate desert suddenly gives way to verdant, luxuriant riverine vegetation as one of the only inland river deltas in the world drains into Kalahari sand…this is Okavango…the swamps…a wetland wildlife paradise.

Namibia, a former German colony, is at its heart a desert country. It is flanked to the west by the Atlantic and covered with some of the most startling geology to be seen anywhere on earth. Namibia will stun you with intense solitude and awe inspiring desolation.
